Meet the founder.

Inaya K. Wajid Founder of The Dough, Dubai

How it started

The Dough started with a batch of cookies that never made it into the oven. Inaya was baking for a family dinner, ran out of time, and put the bowl of raw dough on the table with a handful of spoons. It was gone before the coffee and dates were.

From then on she stopped worrying about baking it, and spent her weekends testing the dough with the flavours she reaches for most in Dubai, pairing dates with salted caramel, karak with cardamom, rose with raspberry and saffron with roasted almonds. Plenty of versions came out too sweet or too strong, and the saffron one took the longest to get right.

Four flavours made the cut for launch, and she's already working on the next ones.
